Galveston currently boasts 7 million visitors each year, and currently holds the 4th largest cruise port in the United States. Galveston is well known for its 32 miles of beaches, superb restaurants, entertainment venues, world-class sports fishing in Galveston Bay, and the Historic Strand District filled with shops and art galleries. The quality of life on Galveston Island is second to none, which continues to attract new residents and visitors each year.
The City of Galveston has made a tremendous investment in the community with investment in infrastructure projects, and the revitalization of the Strand District. Improvements to infrastructure include; 27th Street, Market Street, and the beginning of streetscape upgrades to Downtown. The redevelopment of various historic properties has proven the success of our development incentives, and continue the redevelopment of Historic Downtown Galveston.
