TIFMAS

The Galveston Fire Department participates in the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS). TIFMAS mobilizes local resources to respond to statewide disasters including wildfires, floods and other hazardous situations. Galveston firefighters are credentialed through TIFMAS using the National Wildfire Coordinating Group training standards. Galveston Fire houses two wildland fire engines that can be called out to respond at any time.
