Concessionaires
The City of Galveston invites all vendors and encourages minority-owned small business owners and local entrepreneurs to consider Galveston Island as their next business venture.
The Development Services Department manages all vendors north of the Seawall, including those at Saengerfest Park. The vendors range from food, shaved ice, and frozen novelties to beach rentals, coin-operated machines, and peddler vending. The Development Services Department also accepts applications for pawnbrokers, junk and secondhand dealers, hotel/motel, rooming house/bed and breakfast, and temporary parking lot permits.
The Development Services Department accepts vendor applications year-round and requires applications to be submitted 10 days prior to the desired start date. All permits expire on December 31st and it is the applicant’s responsibility to renew yearly.
For rules and regulations, please review our city ordinances.
Please note that individuals looking to become a concessionaire south of the Seawall and at the beach parks must apply through the Park Board of Trustees.
