City accepting public comments for Thursday council meeting

The City of Galveston is accepting public comments in advance of the Galveston City Council meeting scheduled on Thursday, April 30, 2020. Public attendance will be restricted due to concerns about Coronavirus, but participation is still encouraged.

The City of Galveston has created a form for residents to use to address their comments to City Council. The form is available at https://forms.galvestontx.gov/Forms/PublicComment. We will accept public comments until 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 30 before the public council meeting.

The meeting will be held by video conference on Thursday, April 30 at 1:15 p.m. The City Council meeting will be broadcast on Channel 16, as well as on the City of Galveston’s Facebook account @cityofgalveston. The agenda is available at www.galvestontx.gov/agendacenter

The City Council will also meet at 9 a.m. for a workshop, which is available online at the same locations.

Comments will also be accepted over the phone. People may call the City Secretary’s Office at 409-797-3510.

While the City of Galveston is taking public health precautions to limit the number of people in the Council Chamber, we do not want to limit public engagement in the meeting or city business.
