GALVESTON, TX (December 16, 2020) – The Galveston City Council has been elected for a term ending in May 2022 following the November election and a runoff election held Tuesday.
Galveston City Council seats are unpaid positions, and candidates are elected for two-year terms. Candidates must earn 50 percent of the votes to be elected. Three council positions were decided in November (District 1, 4 and 6), while four positions went to a runoff election (Mayor, District 2, 3 and 5), which was held December 15. According to complete but unofficial results from the Galveston County Clerk’s Office, Galveston voters decided the Galveston City Council races as follows:
City of Galveston Mayor – Craig Brown
City of Galveston Council Member District 1 – E.R. Johnson
City of Galveston Council Member District 2 – William Schuster
City of Galveston Council Member District 3 – David Collins
City of Galveston Council Member District 4 – Bill Quiroga
City of Galveston Council Member District 5 – John Paul Listowski
City of Galveston Council Member District 6 – Marie Robb
