Municipal Utilities is working through a heavy backlog shutting off water at homes with broken pipes, and this is our first priority to help conserve the water supply and avoid service disruptions.
These requests will be given priority over requests to turn water back on. If repairs have been completed on your lines, your plumber is authorized to turn the water service back on locally.
The City's water system is still very fragile, so we need residents to conserve water. The City is under Stage 5 water restrictions. Water use should be limited to essential tasks only. Washing cars and filling pools are prohibited. We ask that residents avoid running dishwasher and washing machines, and limit showers to five minutes or less.
Residents should try to contain leaks on their properties by turning off water until the leak is fixed. If you need help turning off the water, please call Municipal Utilities at 409-797-3630.
Also, remember that we remain under a boil water notice.
