The City of Galveston is in budget season, with staff and management working closely to deliver a budget to City Council for consideration before the fiscal year 2023.
The next fiscal year begins October 1, 2022, and the council must approve the budget before that date. The Galveston City Council has already started discussing next year's budget and will host budget workshops and meetings throughout the rest of the summer.
The Galveston Central Appraisal District is still hearing appraisal protests, so the tax rate has not been proposed yet. Budget documents are posted online at www.galvestontx.gov/financialtransparency as available and as supporting meeting agenda material at www.galvestontx.gov/agendacenter.
