Scam alert! We were notified that several businesses have received a call from scammers claiming to be the City of Galveston and requesting payment for a water bill through Zelle. Please be aware that this is NOT the
City of Galveston, Texas - Government and avoid making any payments.
The utility billing department will never request payment via Zelle for delinquent bills. If a person is delinquent, the process for notification would first be a written notice and a door
hangar.
